I created this website in an effort to educate the Rochester area about how to live a greener lifestyle. The term “Zero Waste” is term that you may or may not have heard before. It is a lifestyle which seeks to minimize the amount of waste that is generated, through things like composting, recycling, and simply consuming less (and better). I don’t love the term “Zero Waste” because, to be honest, I don’t think that leaving behind ZERO trash is attainable, with the way our society is set up. But I do think we can all be doing better. I lead a “Low Waste” lifestyle and I want to encourage you all to do the same.
Through this blog I will be sharing tips on how to create less waste, shop more sustainably, and support local businesses who care about their impact. I grew up in the suburbs of Rochester, then left for 7 years. I came back and was so inspired by how much the city had changed since I left. It instilled in me a strong desire to change the community for the better.
